Anders, An Update

It's hard to believe that Anders is already 3 months old. It has certainly been an adjustment, but the joy he has brought to our home and family is irreplaceable. Watching him grow, learn and developing his sweet personality is the most amazing thing. Here are a few snapshots of his progress over the past few months:

1 Month Old - September 8, 2010
Weight - 11 lbs. 4 oz.
Length - 21.5 inches

• Ate 4 ounces of breastmilk/formula (sensitive) every 2-3 hours
• Began sleeping in his crib, in his own room (was previously in bassinet/co-sleeping)
• Began sleeping 5-6 hours straight through the night, typically 3 2-hour naps throughout day
• Had very strong neck/head control early on
• Some cooing and smiles

2 Months Old - October 8, 2010
Weight - 12 lbs. 12 oz.
Length - 24 inches

• Ate 4 ounces of formula (small amounts of breastmilk as stash was low) every 2-3 hours
• Slept less during day, with a 2-3 hour nap in a.m. and several cat naps in p.m. hours
• Held head up for short periods of time
• Began smiling in response to our smiles, cooing in response to our coos and laughs out loud
• Started daycare at 7 weeks
• Can't keep his hands out of his mouth and the drool was constant

3 Months Old - November 8, 2010
Weight - 14 pounds (give or take a few ounces)
Length - 24 inches

• Eats 4-7 ounces of formula (Enfamil Gentle Ease) every 2-3 hours, slight spit up issues
• Sleeps all night & able to lay him in crib while awake and he usually falls asleep within 10-15 minutes. He usually has a 2-3 hour nap in the morning hours.
• Smiles, laughs, giggles, coos and says "M" and "O" sounds
• Tries to pull himself into the sitting position while grasping hands, able to sit up with some back support, likes sitting in his Bumbo
• Drooling is non-stop, constantly have to change bibs
• Loves tummy time now and rolls over from stomach to back with no problem
• Is very ticklish in lower belly up to arm pits

Overall, he is a wonderful baby; very happy and loving. We consider ourselves very lucky to have such a mild mannered child our first time around. I am so looking forward to celebrating his first Thanksgiving and Christmas with him this year!
