6 Months Old - February 8, 2011
Weight - 17 lbs (2/10/11) & 17 lbs 10 oz (2/23/11)
Length - 27 inches
At 6 Months he:
- Still eats 5-8 ounces of sensitive formula with plain or mixed fruit rice. He rarely spits up now, unless he's sick and then he's been known to channel the Exorcist and projectile vomit (usually all over Charlie). He loves his solid foods and usually has 2 oz. at lunch with a 4 oz. bottle and 2 oz. and a bottle again for supper. He eats a mixture of Stage 1 and 2 and I have tried a few puff crackers, but he tends to choke a little, so we'll hold off on those for a while. His menu now includes peaches (which cause him to shiver after each bite because they are a tangy), blueberries and chicken broth. He absolute HATES any turkey dish and drenched his teacher in turkey gravy the other day when she fed him at school.
- Sleep is still great! He tends to sleep mostly on his side now. The naps are few and far between at daycare, but on the weekends he has several decent naps...he apparently doesn't care about what's going on home as much as he does at daycare.
- SITTING UP! It kinda just happened one day and he loves it. He's able to see so much more and reach things better. He can sit up in the grocery carts and he thinks he's something special - reaching out for everything and flirting with everyone. He also likes to grab onto his highchair or grocery cart and push and pull himself; he just laughs and laughs. He's easily entertained.
- 2 teeth! One popped up several weeks ago on the bottom and has grown so quickly. Just a few days ago after he received his 6 month shots and was screaming bloody murder, I noticed that another one right next to it had broken the gums.
- Talks! He can say 'Dada' and whenever he sees Charlie or someone that looks like him, he says 'Dada!' I do wish he would say 'Mama', but I know he'll be hollering it shortly and I'll be wishing he'd be quiet...hehe. He also says what sounds like 'Bye-bye'...he usually says it all the way to daycare and all the way home from daycare and all the way to the store and all the way to the doctor and all the way...well, you get the idea.
- He has a girlfriend at daycare! He is always flirting with the ladies, so this doesn't surprise me, but he's pretty serious about this one. He held her hand during The Little Mermaid the other day!! I've gotta keep a close eye on him... :)
